The idea for this project was to create a paper sample booklet for French Paper’s line of Dur-O-Tone paper based off of a specific aspect of the classic casino game of poker. Poker is a card-based gambling game largely focused on bluffs. The paper sample booklet created is one that teaches you how to figure out someone’s tells and catch them in a bluff.
The Book of Bluff was created with humor and audience-engagement in mind, and should be as fun to read and flip through as playing poker.
The resolution of the booklet comments on the trustworthiness, durability and honesty of French Paper’s Dur-O-Tone line. The vintage Vegas approach on poker bluffs was chosen as a contrast to the Dur-O-Tone line. The point was to communicate that, while it may be necessary to lie in poker, Dur-O-Tone doesn’t bluff because it simply doesn’t need to. The Dur-O-Tone line is one that is strong and durable, one you can count on, one you can bet on.
